There’s probably a ton of these floating round the web but as I’m working on this at the mo I thought I would throw it up here. A very simple 10×10 grid of 64×64 pixel squares that you can use as the basis of any custom Google Icons you work on. Make sure you slice inside the red outline and you’ll be sorted! Let me know if this is of use to you…

TwitterPlan - Get local planning alerts via a Twitter DM

TwitterPlan - Get local planning alerts via a Twitter DM

As Staind sang, It’s Been a While (ouch!) but I’m back with a heads up on a project I played a small part in. Stuart Harrison of Lichfield DC has just rolled out his Twitter / PlanningAlerts.com mashup, TwitterPlan.

You can find out all the deets in Stuart’s TwitterPlan blog post, but for my part I developed the look and feel of the site, taking obvious influence from the Twitter look while trying to keep things bold and user friendly. Kudos also needs to go to Mike Pollard who designed the birdie illustration which adorns the service.

It’s still in alpha as Stuart is banging out the bugs; please go give it a try and leave me and Stuart any comments on our relative blogs!

City of Lincoln Council New Homepage

The redesigned City of Lincoln Council Homepage

The redesigned City of Lincoln Council Homepage

Very plesed here; last night the new homepage for the City of Lincoln Council went live. My involvement in this project is as designer; I worked on the visual design of the homepage, looking at examples from other sites to see what worked and what didn’t, before developing the formal spec which was then handed to our developers at A Recipe for Success. The final result meets all requirements perfectly and should help us to deliver relevant information in an easier to follow way, as well as being more vibrant and somewhat easier on the eye. It also gives us an greater amount of flexibility over the old home page to deliver a mix of text based and visual elements.

Shout up your thoughts in the comments!
